Dear colleagues, for your ammonia synthesis plant with an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons, what is the hourly flow rate of the black water discharged from the bottom of the sedimentation tank in the gasification slag and water treatment system (which is then sent to a vacuum belt filter or another black water treatment unit)? What about the solid content? Also, how should the bottom flow pump for the sedimentation tank be selected? Should a variable-frequency motor be used, or should an outlet control valve be employed to regulate the flow rate? Is it prone to clogging, or do the control valves and pipes wear out? Thank you!
I’m not exactly sure about the specific flow rate. The flow is controlled by adjusting the opening degree of the outlet manual valve. This pump has a very low flow rate; a centrifugal pump was chosen for it, and the pump body is equipped with wear-resistant guards. There’s no need to use an inverter-driven motor – a regular motor will suffice. A start-stop valve is used at the outlet, and both the inlet and outlet of the pump are fitted with flushing pipes. The pipes need to be flushed thoroughly every time the pump is stopped to prevent blockages. There is a risk of wear and tear, but it isn’t a problem in the short term. Using 20# steel pipes will suffice; if the environment is highly acidic, then 316L steel might be necessary
