I’m not sure what exclusion steps you have already taken, nor what your gauge model, installation method, or operating environment are, so I can only offer some general advice: First, work together with the technical team to determine whether the high liquid level readings are accurate; If not, it can be concluded that it is a false alarm from the instrument itself ; Reconfirm the false alarm situation: whether it was caused by a fault in a primary component or a secondary component ; Among these, primary component failures such as blockages in pressure transfer tubes, deformation of pressure sensing diaphragms, stuck float balls, and contamination of radar wave receiving components are identified step by step depending on the type of instrument ; Secondary component failures such as transmitters or contact switches (normally open/normally closed), cables, as well as settings in the signal input systems (DCS/PLC, etc.), such as the setpoints for alarm values; there may also be issues with the 4-20mA signal not being released properly during loop tests, etc. There are too many reasons, too little information, and an overwhelming variety of level gauges – so it can only be investigated step by step.
