It’s a very basic question; I’ve suddenly gotten confused. Please clarify. . Which side is the low-pressure side of a regular pump? Is it one end of the coupling?
Why isn’t anyone responding? Was I not clear enough? Specifically, is the low-pressure side of the multi-stage pump or double-support pump on the side of the coupling or on the side of the pump that does not have a coupling? It should be basic knowledge for those working with equipment; I hope you can give some guidance
You can tell by looking at the pump’s designation; for example, in the PHPE type, the low-pressure side is in the direction of the coupling!
Regardless of the pump rating, the low-pressure side is the inlet side, and the high-pressure side is the outlet side. There are several different ways to arrange the inlet and outlet of a pump; the end with the coupling is referred to as the front end, while the other end is the back end. :loveliness:
The simplest way is to determine it based on the pump’s inlet and outlet: the outlet side is the high-pressure side, while the inlet side is the low-pressure side.
Another method is to use the same pump, with the larger diameter end serving as the inlet, which is on the low-pressure side, and the smaller diameter end as the outlet, which is on the high-pressure side

I think what the original poster is asking about is probably the machine seal on the coupling side, in the low-pressure area. The pump inlet is definitely a low-pressure area
