It’s best not to do that; return it to the manufacturer, or else a special filtering device is required. Otherwise, it will be troublesome if the bubble wrap or filler gets blocked.
The problem of acidic sludge is not easy to resolve; to date, there have been no reports of excessive acidic sludge causing blockages in the bubble columns, but that doesn’t mean such situations don’t exist. If they do occur, it’s necessary to clean them regularly. For the analysis of concentrated sulfuric acid upon arrival at the plant, as long as there are no major issues, it’s fine; however, if there is a large amount of acid sludge, then the appearance of the sulfuric acid will also be considered unacceptable.
A sulfuric acid trough is used, with the acid outlet at a certain height above the bottom of the trough; the acid sludge accumulated in the trough is removed on a regular basis.
Be careful: each time you draw acid from the acid tank, do not add it right away after unloading it; let it rest for some time, at least 3 hours or more. Also, clean out the acid sludge during major repairs!
