In 2010, the application process for Master of Engineering degrees involved both online applications and on-site verification. Please bring the original graduation certificate, degree certificate, ID card, or military officer’s ID when going for on-site verification. I. Online application period in Shaanxi Province: 8:00 on July 5, 2010, to 24:00 on July 15, 2010. (The testing period for the registration website is from July 3rd to 4th.) II. Registration website in Shaanxi Province: http://xwb.shaan*.gov.cn (Shaanxi Province **Degree Office). III. Time and location for on-site confirmation in Shaanxi Province: 1. Time: July 17–19. 2. The on-site confirmation location for candidates applying to Xi’an University of Science and Technology in Shaanxi Province: Admissions Office of the Graduate School, Xi’an University of Science and Technology (Room 307, Administrative Building, Yanta Campus). IV. Candidates from outside Shaanxi Province who wish to apply to Xi’an University of Science and Technology can complete the online registration and on-site confirmation locally. Reply to 6# zhujie: There’s a big difference. A Master of Engineering degree is categorized under the science fields, while a Master of Engineering Management is, in essence, just a way to buy a diploma at a cost.
It’s as if those who graduated from regular universities discriminate against students from working-class, peasant, and soldier backgrounds. Master of Engineering graduates are also discriminated against. But to say something harsh: the social contribution made by master’s graduates in engineering may not necessarily be greater than that of regular master’s graduates.
