What if there is less steam output from the remaining boiler? What to do if heat transfer to the steam superheater is not possible? Thank you? Do you add deoxygenated water at the steam outlet for cooling?
This post was last edited by Shandong Huaxing on 2010-7-4 at 20:44. The steam pressure generated by the waste heat boiler is 4.0 MPa, with a corresponding saturated steam temperature of 252 degrees. Deoxygenated water cannot be used for cooling, as in the steam reheater, saturated steam at 4.0 MPa is used to exchange heat with the process gas, raising the temperature of the process gas from around 170 degrees to 200–235 degrees (in order to increase the conversion rate of organic sulfur, the inlet temperature of the first-stage Claus reactor is maintained at around 235 degrees). It is difficult to control the inlet temperatures of the various reaction reactors after cooling. Given that the steam generated by the waste heat boiler is insufficient to meet the needs of the sulfur recovery unit, external 4.0 MPa superheated steam typically needs to be cooled using demineralized water in a temperature reducer before it can be connected to the 4.0 MPa saturated steam in the sulfur recovery system; when the steam produced by the waste heat boiler is not enough, the 4.0 MPa superheated steam can be used after being cooled by the demineralized water in the temperature reducer.

The temperature is generally controlled between 400 and 450 degrees; although a temperature reducer is available, it is usually not used. When the waste heat boiler produces less steam, it is possible to switch to a 1.0 megapascal steam network, using steam from that network for supplementation.

Regarding the situation mentioned by LZ, it’s the same in our unit: this has been taken into account during the design process; a pipeline for 1.1 times superheated steam is added before the saturated steam enters the steam superheater. When the equivalent amount is low or none, just turn this on. Vent the 4.0 MPa steam; do not integrate it into the pipeline network. After the steam is superheated, we have temperature reducers, where medium-pressure deoxygenated water is used to cool it down. Active participation
