Reasons for the failure of the air distributor in the two-stage furnace

The two-stage furnace in our unit’s old system was replaced with one from the new system during the technical upgrade in 2007. The new system featured a two-stage furnace with greater capacity, and this furnace has been operating well in that new system, with no issues such as burning out of the air distributor. However, once it was used in the old system, the middle part of the ends of the distributor often burned out or even came off. There were no significant changes in terms of temperature. Only a lot of yellow substance could be seen at the edges of the distributor, and the analysis showed it to be sulfur. If the distributor was damaged due to sulfur in the natural gas causing blockages and localized overheating, then why is the second-stage furnace in the new system unaffected?
What is the situation with a single furnace in the new and old systems? Explain it clearly
Reply to 2# alcon: I’m not sure what you mean by “make things clear” – in which regard? Our new and old single-stage furnaces employ a two-stage heat exchange process; they have the same design, only with different capacity levels
