There is an exam coming up soon, and one of the topics covered is the distillation of ethanol. I would appreciate it if you could provide some guidance and share the operating procedures along with any important points to keep in mind. Thank you very much!
Is it a multi-tower process? For regular-grade alcohol, two columns are sufficient; for high-grade alcohol, five or more columns are required. Generally, the differential pressure heat coupling technique is employed (coarse column → aldehyde removal column → refined column → methanol removal column → recovery column)
