When designing supports, do people first carry out calculations and then select the appropriate support based on those results? Our company doesn’t do any calculations; it just selects directly. I’m a beginner, so I don’t know how to make the selection. Do everyone just rely on experience?

I never do any calculations... I just choose based on the diameter from JB/T4712...
I haven’t done any calculations either; generally, I estimate the weight of the equipment and then choose the diameter accordingly.
