What is the function of the condenser to the air safety door? What is the pressure action value?
You’ve posted four posts in a row, all related to condensers. If you could combine them into one post and organize the information about condensers, it would definitely be a great post!
The condenser to atmosphere safety valve is used when the condenser is not operating properly and steam cannot be liquefied, which leads to an increase in condenser pressure and a decrease in vacuum level; it serves to ensure the safety of the equipment
The exhaust safety valve that allows steam to be discharged into the atmosphere is used to protect the condenser and the steam turbine’s exhaust pipes, preventing the pressure inside them from rising above atmospheric pressure (as the exhaust side of the low-pressure cylinder cannot withstand high pressures). The manufacturer’s instructions state that condensing turbines must not operate with steam discharged into the atmosphere; therefore, during design, each side of the turbine’s low-pressure cylinder is equipped with an exhaust safety valve. When the vacuum drops during operation and the exhaust pressure rises rapidly to slightly above atmospheric pressure (about 0.02–0.04 psig), the asbestos rubber plate will break. At the same time, steam is discharged to the atmosphere through the exhaust safety valve in the condenser, preventing damage to the exhaust cylinder.
