I have started working on projects related to molecular sieves, and I’ve created this post specifically to discuss them with everyone; I’m seeking experts’ advice
Why does everyone just read without replying? I urge experts to discuss this. Let me start by asking: What is the nucleation mechanism of molecular sieves? What is the crystallization mechanism?
Reply to 2# muhaibo111: I really want to know too; please help out. I bought a book titled “Chemistry of Molecular Sieves and Porous Materials,” but I couldn’t understand it. I only have a rough idea that factories use sodium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide as materials, along with water glass, and then proceed with crystallization using some methods I’m not clear about. I hope someone can share their knowledge… I ask the experts to explain this in simple terms.

Take 4A molecular sieve as an example – sodium oxide, sodium aluminate, sodium hydroxide, and water are mixed in certain proportions; after being left to stand for a certain period of time at a temperature of around 100 degrees Celsius, crystallization takes place over 6 hours or so. The particle size is generally 3-5 μm. I also have that book; page 245 shows an example of the synthesis of type A molecular sieve. This process is quite simple.
