Can a clamp ammeter measure high-voltage current? Do clamp ammeters come in different voltage ratings?
It’s possible, but it’s better not to do the measurement. If high-voltage current must be measured, special attention must be paid to safety issues; the insulation of the cable cover must be of good quality!
Tests for high-voltage currents are usually carried out using transformers; if you insist on using a clamp ammeter, it is possible to measure the current in a single conductor of a high-voltage cable, but it is not recommended that you do so.
There are specialized clamp meters designed for measuring high-voltage currents; it is not recommended to use ordinary clamp meters for measuring high voltages.
