Why must each blade of an axial flow fan or a smoke extractor’s moving blades be able to move slightly during installation?
Expand, my friend; otherwise they’ll get crushed to death – there must be some space left.
The common shape is usually that of a fir leaf, mainly to account for thermal expansion.
