Our plant’s torch system is equipped with both ground-level ignition devices and high-altitude ignition devices. For the ground-level ignition device, the fuel gas pipeline and the instrument air pipeline each pass through flow meters before reaching the flow switch unit; from this unit, there are two instrument air pipelines as indicated on the drawings, which lead to the ground-level igniters located above the torch; The high-altitude ignition device consists of two fuel pipelines that lead to the flare head via two solenoid valves respectively. Could any fellow sailor please explain the principle of ignition and the detailed steps for carrying it out? Thank you.
Put simply, it’s similar to the gas stove in your home: you turn on the switch, gas is supplied, and an electric spark ignites the burner. The principle is similar; in our factory’s torch system, an electric spark is first used to ignite a \"constant flame,\" and then, by adjusting the flow rate, that constant flame is used to light up the main torch.
There is a fundamental difference between ground ignition and high-altitude ignition; high-altitude ignition involves the direct ignition of a pilot flame through air premixing. The eternal flame lights the torch. Ground ignition involves using a flame on the ground to reach high altitudes, thereby lighting the permanent flame and then igniting the torch.
