Liquefied gas is leaking from the valve’s packing

Today, when I opened the valve a little wider while operating it, air started leaking from the packing area; but when I reduced the opening size, the leakage stopped. What’s going on? (I later heard that that part is called packing, and I’d like to ask what packing is. If you know, please explain it. Thank you.)
Nitrile rubber is a sealing material. Made from softer thread-like materials, it seals the rotating parts of machinery through strips with a square cross-section. Depending on the material and application, they are classified into the following types: Aramid black PTFE interwoven packing SWP801, Aramid packing SWP802, Graphite packing SWP803, Fluorine packing SWP804, Carbon fiber packing SWP805, Reinforced PTFE packing SWP806. Packing is also known as sealing filler. It is generally used in valve stems or other applications that require simple sealing. The materials are mostly graphite, PTFE, asbestos, etc. Some of them need to be soaked in oil before use. Graphite packing is widely used by various manufacturers due to its plasticity, slightly better heat resistance compared to other types, as well as its relatively low cost and simple manufacturing process. Asbestos fillers are less common these days, and they are not used in many applications.
Press the filler gland out, tighten the two bolts symmetrically, and check the leakage effect!
