A electric contact level gauge measures water level based on the difference in electrical conductivity between steam and water. The conductivity of water is generally tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of times higher than that of steam. A electric contact level gauge consists of a level measurement container, electrodes, electrode cores, a level display light, and a power supply. The electrode is mounted on a water level container to form an electrode water level transmitter. The electrode core is insulated from the housing of the water level measurement container. Due to the high electrical conductivity of water, the resistance is low; when the contacts are submerged in water, a short circuit occurs between the electrode core and the container shell, causing the corresponding water level indicator light to turn on, thereby indicating the water level inside the steam drum. The electrode located in the steam has high resistance due to the low conductivity of the steam, which prevents a circuit from being formed; as a result, the water level indicator light does not turn on. Therefore, the number of bright display lights can be used to reflect the level of water. Depending on the measured water level, a different number of electrodes is selected ; Of course, secondary instruments in special forms can meet various water level alarm requirements.
