Reply to 1# caoyujiancs: The older generation of chemical engineering technicians all used this notation, where B stands for metal materials: carbon steel; 2 represents the nominal pressure: 1.6 MPa ; F stands for: the sealing surface is RF or F surface ; 01, 02, 03, up to 49: all indicate that the material of the sealing surface is an asbestos rubber gasket. As far as I know, it doesn’t really matter; it simply represents asbestos rubber gaskets. As for asbestos rubber gaskets, there is a certain difference in thickness ; If it is 50–60, it refers to a metal wound gasket or a metal clad gasket. For example, D4M50 refers to alloy steel, with a nominal pressure of 4.0 MPa, M or MF face, and a metal wound gasket. On the current PID diagram, it is shown as: L1B-H ; Pressure is indicated by letters: L stands for a nominal pressure of 1.0 MPa, 1 represents the serial number, B denotes carbon steel as the material, H indicates insulation; there is no indication for gaskets, while the type of gasket is shown in the axonometric diagram.

The reason for asking this is that the design institutes now require quite precise specifications regarding the material of gaskets; specifically, for codes B2F01, 02, 03, it is necessary that these details be consistent in the floor plans, axonometric views, and PID diagrams. I would like to ask you: what is the basis for that new method of representation you mentioned? Are there any relevant **standards or chemical industry standards?
