Meaning of cable model designation:
1. Purpose code – Unspecified means power cable; K denotes control cable, P denotes signal cable.
2. Insulation code – Z: oil-impregnated paper; X: rubber; V: polyvinyl chloride; YJ: cross-linked polyethylene.
3. Conductor material code – Unspecified means copper; L means aluminum.
4. Inner shielding layer code – Q: lead coating; L: aluminum coating; H: rubber sheath; V: polyvinyl chloride sheath.
5. Derived code – D: non-dripping; P: dry insulation.
6. Outer sheath code.
7. Special product code – TH: humid tropical area; TA: dry tropical area.
8. Rated voltage – in KV units.
Considerations for selecting cable models:
1. SYV: Solid polyethylene-insulated RF coaxial cable.
2. SYWV(Y): Physically foamed polyethylene-insulated cable for cable TV systems. Video (RF) coaxial cables (SYV, SYWV, SYFV) are suitable for closed-circuit surveillance and cable TV projects. SYWV(Y) and SYKV are cables dedicated to cable TV and broadband networks.
