At present, it is not possible for them to serve as raw materials for one another, but it is possible to combine existing fertilizers with chlor-alkali products in order to create new products. For example, urea is used to produce cyanuric acid, which is in itself a product; this acid can then be reacted with chlorine to yield trichloroisocyanuric acid, or it can be used to produce sodium dichloroisocyanurate. This is a disinfectant with a high chlorine content, which is currently widely used for disinfection in high-end swimming pools, hotels, and other public places. It is not yet used extensively in China; it is mainly intended for export. With the development of China’s economy, its widespread use within the country is only a matter of time. II. If the goal is to convert liquid caustic soda into solid products, considering the production of sodium formate followed by the production of hypochlorite or formic acid could be an option. In the short term, it is still recommended to produce granular alkali, as it is convenient for transportation and storage. Although the profit margin isn’t very high, it’s still much better than being forced to reduce production volume because the product can’t be sold when it’s stored in large tanks. 8.
