I’m about to start working on projects related to fertilizers, and my main responsibility will be managing the equipment. However, I don’t have a clear overall approach for designing the equipment. Anyone with experience could share their insights – what kind of approach should be taken for the equipment part in a large-scale project, or what are the specific details regarding the installation of the equipment? Domestic technology and equipment for large-scale fertilizer production now possess full autonomy in development. Given that your project involves coal-based fertilizers, it is necessary to first determine the gasification technology to be used – whether it is water-coal slurry gasification, Shell powder coal gasification, ash fusion gasification, Endler furnace powder coal gasification, or another type. Once the gasification technology is selected, specific research should be conducted on the key equipment required for the gasification process, such as gasifiers, boilers, CO compressors, coal slurry pumps, coal grinders, and so on. Next, moving along the gasification process chain, the main equipment for various units such as desulfurization, decarburization, refining, synthesis, methanol production, urea production, and caustic soda production is listed, along with the corresponding technical parameters and specifications. Through research among manufacturers of similar types and recommendations from engineering companies, a shortlist of key equipment is prepared. Subsequently, technical discussions are held with each supplier in conjunction with the design team, and finally, the equipment supplier is selected based on commercial quotes. How is it constructed specifically? You don’t need to worry too much; there are general contractors and installation contractors, and they are usually very professional.
