What is the meaning of the ring size for octagonal pads? If there is already pressure, then why is a ring size needed? Could that expert explain it? Thank you
Octagonal gaskets belong to the R-type metal ring gaskets for flanges. The API 6B flange standard is adopted, in line with China’s SY/T 5127-2002 specification. The ring gasket number in R-type gaskets is not specific to octagonal gaskets; it also applies to oval R-type gaskets. Its ring number has no connection with the pressure rating; it merely corresponds to the pitch P of the rings and grooves. For example, R20 corresponds to 68.28; R23 ==> 82.55; R23 ==> 95.25.....
