What are the advantages and disadvantages of using a single gas collector and a dual gas collector in coke ovens? Is it convenient to adjust the pressure in a dual gas collection system? Please ask the fellow sailors for help.
Single gas collection pipe systems require less investment, while dual gas collection pipes are easier to adjust
The investment for a single gas duct is low, but the pressure distribution is uneven; Dual gas collectors have high investment costs, but they provide a more even pressure distribution, making it easier to regulate the pressure.
After reading Haiyou’s reply, many people support dual gas pipes. However, the dual gas collection pipes create a poor operating environment on the furnace top, mainly due to the heat dissipation angle. Furthermore, the current 7.63M coke ovens use a single gas collection pipe, and I still think that a single gas collection pipe has many advantages.
Gas collectors come in single and double types. The single-type gas collector is generally installed on the machine side; its advantages include lower steel consumption and reduced investment, as well as better ventilation at the top of the furnace. However, during coal loading, the air flow resistance inside the carbonization chamber is high, which can lead to smoking and sparking. The dual gas collection pipes enable the reduction of the pressure difference at both ends of the gas collection pipes, as the raw gas emerges from both sides of the carbonization chamber; this helps to maintain uniform pressure throughout the carbonization chambers of the furnace and reduces smoking and flaming. However, in the late stage of coking, gas in the collector pipes tends to flow into the carbonization chamber and then through the space above the carbonization chamber to the other collector pipe, thereby increasing the cracking of crude gas. Additionally, dual collector pipes result in high metal consumption, high capital investment, as well as greater consumption of ammonia water and steam!
