I designed a system that uses an oil-free piston compressor in place of an ammonia compressor. What precautions should be taken when using an oil-free piston compressor?
Reply 1# xxg25: An oil-free lubrication compressor does not allow oil to enter the cylinder, which reduces the need for oil-gas separation processes and equipment, thereby improving the purity of the gas. Sealing components such as piston rings, support rings, packing, and valve plates inside the cylinder are made of materials filled with tetrafluoroethylene or PEEK, which possess self-lubricating and heat-resistant properties. Their use is simpler compared to oil lubrication; it is sufficient to run the machine empty for half an hour after startup, and once the temperatures at all relevant points are within the appropriate range, the machine can be put into use.
Before putting it into use, the inlet pipelines, buffer tanks, etc. must be thoroughly cleaned; acid cleaning is recommended to prevent impurities from entering the cylinder.
