What effect will reversing the impeller of a centrifugal pump have on its motor?
If it’s a no-load test, there’s no problem; for a jog test, it’s fine as long as nothing is done to address it. But doing this during production can lead to serious accidents

In a three-phase motor, if two phase wires are connected in reverse, the motor will rotate in the opposite direction. This doesn’t cause much damage to the motor, but it does affect the pump; at the very least, the pump will no longer function properly

It has little impact on the motor. Pump connectors are generally designed for forward rotation; operating them in reverse for a long time may cause the pump components to loosen.
A slight movement when it’s installed backwards isn’t a problem, but when it’s operating normally, it’s likely that there is no check valve at the outlet of the high-pressure pump, which allows high pressure to mix with low pressure and thus damage the impeller.
