To save energy and reduce consumption, purified water is sometimes added to the injection water. However, the addition of purified water should not exceed 50%. Why? ?
This post was last edited by H8902 on 2010-7-15 at 23:36. To achieve the best results when using air cooling for water injection, it is recommended to use clean steam condensate as the washing water. However, at least 50% of the washing water mixture should consist of the following components: clean condensate, boiler feedwater, condensate from the surface condensers of the circulating gas compressor steam turbines, and the water from the top of the distillation column in the first stage of the steam stripping process. Additionally, up to 50% of the wash water can be obtained from the stripped acid water, which comes from specialized stripping towers designed for treating the acid water generated in hydrogenation units. The purified water should still meet certain standards; impurities such as ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and oxygen are still present. Excessive levels of these impurities can reduce the scale-prevention effectiveness of air cooling. The required parameters for the purified water are as follows: For steam condensate or boiler feed water, after stripping, the pH of the purified water should be between 7 and 9; the total dissolved solids level should be in the range of 7–9 wt-ppm
