In the standard HGT20592~20635-2009 \"Steel Pipe Flanges, Gaskets, and Fasteners\", the nominal pressure is expressed in bars, whereas in version HG20592~20635-1997 it is expressed in MPa. Why was this change made?
I think it might be something like this: one reason is what was mentioned on the second floor about aligning with international standards, and another reason could be that the values for bar and kgf/cm2 are the same.
I hate changes constantly; it’s relatively easier for technical staff to adapt, but it’s difficult to explain things clearly to procurement staff. Connecting with international standards sounds good; using MPa uniformly makes communication easier for everyone.
