Help: What does this FTIR spectrum roughly represent? Are the two ordinary ones different? Instrumental analysis of this substance using EDX shows the following composition: C 40.54 wt%, 62.91 At%; O 24.57 wt%, 28.63 At%; Br 2.86 wt%, 0.67 At%; Si 3.04 wt%, 2.02 At%; S 2.65 wt%, 1.54 At%; Cl 0.66 wt%, 0.35 At%; Sn 19.10 wt%, 3.00 At%; and the remainder constitutes 6.58 wt%, or 0.89 At%. Please help analyze this data; thank you very much! !
The two peak shapes appear to be essentially the same, so it is very likely that they represent the same substance. As for spectrum analysis, I haven’t done it in a few years; I need to look up information regarding the structures corresponding to the absorption peaks. Moreover, infrared spectroscopy is mainly used to identify some of the functional groups present; it is difficult to determine what substance it is. It is recommended to use nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry as well.
It’s hard to judge like this. In the elemental analysis, silicon, chlorine, sulfur, and tin were detected, while there are no analysis data for hydrogen and nitrogen. Based solely on infrared spectroscopy, the structures appear similar, but without other supporting evidence, it cannot be concluded easily; especially in the case of some metal-organic compounds, the factors contributing to such changes or differences are quite significant.
