Let’s summarize the reasons for oil leakage in centrifugal pumps. I hope this post is helpful to everyone.
The structural design is unreasonable, the bolt tightening force is insufficient, and the assembly is not proper
Are the oil tanks of pumps more prone to leaking? For example, the mechanical seal does not seal properly, the oil cup is poorly designed, and the viewing window is not tightened properly
Common leakage locations include: 1. Gaps at the joint surfaces of the upper cover and the side end covers of the bearing housing, or failed seals. 2. There is a gap at the oil window joint surface or the seal gasket (adhesive) has failed. 3. The oil seal clearance is out of spec. 4. Excessively high oil level. 5. The oil drain plug does not seal properly. 6. The bearing housing is not designed properly; as the bearings operate, the lubricating oil heats up, resulting in a pressure difference. Since the bearing housing lacks a pressure equalization mechanism, the lubricating oil leaks out through the oil seals or other gaps.
1 The oil seal gap is out of spec or the oil seal is damaged. 2 Excess oil level or water entering the bearing box. The gasket of the 3-axis pressure cover is damaged. 4 The gasket of the drain plug is damaged. 5 The small holes in the ventilation cap are blocked. 6 The oil cup or window is not tightened properly (the gasket is damaged).
