First of all, I would like to ask: MCS is a simulated control system, and SCS is a sequential control system. So, do these two fall under the category of DCS? Third, why are MCS and SCS discussed separately? Do they have some special function? Fourth, is it correct to say that MCS is used for regulation and SCS is used for interlocking? DCS is an automatic control system that combines software and hardware. MCS and SCS merely describe, from a process perspective, the role of certain devices within the control system; by separating them, it becomes easier for maintenance personnel to identify the devices and carry out maintenance tasks. Analog control in MCS and sequential control in SCS are interrelated within the programs. Strictly speaking, MCS is used for regulation, while SCS is used for interlocking functions; analog values also play a role in enabling interlocking based on process requirements. Digital signals can also be used for adjustment. For particularly important analog quantities, process requirements dictate the setting of interlock values, with digital signals used to regulate and protect the equipment. In terms of control, the two are inseparable; they are merely artificially separated from a process perspective based on their primary functions.
