Under what circumstances is it necessary to install a reflux system in a internal floating roof tank?
I’ve never heard of backflow being required for internal floating roof tanks; I’ve only seen backflow used for residue oil or asphalt to circulate within the tank.

I don’t think there is much connection between internal floating roof tanks and backflow; from the perspective of protecting the floating disk, internal floating roof tanks generally prevent the liquid level from dropping below the disk, with the level usually being kept around 2 meters. Additionally, feed pipelines typically have an elbow that extends to the bottom of the tank, so backflow has little impact on the floating disk. If a safety height must be specified, I would recommend keeping it above 2 meters.
I agree with the view above; storage tanks are generally not associated with the concept of reflux; what is relevant is tank transfer or self-circulation.
