The \"Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises\" (GB50160), 5.3.1 states that the layout of combustible gas compressors and the design of the buildings in which they are located shall comply with the following requirements: 1. Combustible gas compressors should preferably be installed in open or semi-open type buildings; 2. Plant rooms for Class A gas compressors with a single-unit drive power of 150 kW or more should not share the same building as other Class A, B, and C rooms ; 3. Process equipment of Classes A, B, and C shall not be installed above the compressor, except for self-provided high-level lubricating oil tanks, which are exempt from this restriction. ..... The first question is that I have seen some combustible gas compressors, such as propylene refrigerators, which are located on the first floor of the factory building, while various process equipment is placed on the second and third floors above those compressors. And the entire device is designed as part of the compound. How can this be explained? The second question is: how is it determined whether a gas mixture is flammable? For example, in a mixture of propane and nitrogen, when the propane concentration is low enough, it should no longer be considered a flammable gas. So where is this boundary line, and are there any standards that specify it? For example, in the case of exhaust gases with a low concentration of organic substances, if compression is required, then such compressors should no longer be considered combustible gas compressors; therefore, they are not subject to the aforementioned regulations?
