Questions about heat exchanger gaskets

For the heat exchanger gaskets in my company, regardless of the type of heat exchanger, graphite wound gaskets are always used. Personally, I think this is unnecessary; it would be better to choose the appropriate material for the gasket based on process parameters such as the medium in contact, temperature, and pressure. I’m curious to know what others do in this regard – let’s share our experiences and insights!

From what you say, it seems that the standards are based on national regulations; as our company continues to develop, we should also gradually move in that direction
It’s not that it’s not standard; using graphite pads for everything is a bit excessive. The material can be selected in accordance with JB4704 or HG20606.
