I would like to ask experts: What are the main processes for clarifying black water generated in gasification? What is the volume of water being treated? What is the size of the equipment? Thank you so much! :)
For the clarification of water-coal slurry and the black water from space furnaces, a clarification tank along with flocculants is used; the mixture settles to the bottom of the tank due to gravity. The clearer water enters the ash water tank, while the black water with a higher solid content is sent to a filtration system to remove fine residues, and the filtrate is reused.

As far as I know, the design of the clarification tanks varies; for example, different clarification technologies are used in Texaco’s water-coal slurry gasification and SHELL’s powder coal gasification. It seems that GSP also uses a different approach. Therefore, I hope experts in this field can offer more detailed information, such as the type and size of the clarification tanks, the volume of water they can handle, the investment required, etc. Thank you again~~~
