In a newly installed refining unit at our company, the noise generated by the oil and gas pipelines at the top of the distillation tower, when the processing capacity was low, overpowered all the other noises in the unit. I speculated that it might be caused by an excessive degree of backflow in the compressor, but when the processing capacity was increased to the design level, the situation improved slightly – the backflow was reduced – yet the noise remained loud. What could be the cause of this? I seek advice from experts! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Reply to 1# lijianhuai: It’s possible that resonance has occurred between the wire and the air compressor; by adjusting the gas flow rate or processing volume, it’s possible to avoid this resonant frequency. However, a fundamental solution to the problem must be found through proper design.
Haven’t heard of it; looking forward to a reply. It might be caused by engine surge, but the noise shouldn’t come from the main oil and gas lines, right?
It might be that liquid condenses in the oil and gas lines, causing the flow of liquid and gas together and generating a sound similar to that of water hammer. It would be worth checking whether there is a correlation with temperature levels, or whether the slope of the horizontal sections is insufficient, leading to accumulation of liquid in those sections which is then carried along by the gas and produces such sounds.
It’s not that the layout of the pipes is unreasonable; the loud noise indicates a high steam velocity. Is the load on the pipes sufficient? Have you calculated it?
First, refer to the design installation drawings to check whether any spring supports are missing; it is preliminarily assumed that the noise is caused by reaching the resonance point. Thermal pipelines must be constructed in accordance with the drawings.
