Mechanical seal standards

There are no unified standards for mechanical seals – only the standards set by individual manufacturers. So how should we make a choice when designing them? We can’t possibly check each manufacturer one by one, right? Or should we design everything ourselves and then have the manufacturers produce it? It seems there’s no need for that! How do you all do it? ?
Reply to 1# w496351205: There are standard specifications available, such as GB10444-89 for the method of specifying models for mechanical seals, JBT 4127.1–1999 for the technical requirements of mechanical seals, and JBT1472 for mechanical seals used in pumps. Currently, most mechanical seals in use are modeled after foreign brands, and their numbering and dimensions often do not conform to national standards.
Reply to 2# 47238789: That one only provides the manufacturing methods and technical requirements, but it doesn’t offer any standardized models for us to choose from! !
More and more seals are being encountered these days
Even for the same model, those from different manufacturers may not work either; there’s nothing uniform anymore
This situation is quite common; we usually choose from a few fixed suppliers, which also allows us to have a good idea of the quality of the products
