In recent years, domestic acetic acid production has increased rapidly, turning the country from an importer into a net exporter. The price of acetic acid in the domestic market has dropped from 5,000 yuan per ton to below 3,000 yuan; the era of high profits for acetic acid appears to be over forever. On one hand, the sharp drop in acetic acid prices has made things difficult for acetic acid manufacturers, and this situation is expected to persist for several years. On the other hand, low-priced acetic acid is beneficial for downstream users, and it represents an excellent opportunity for the development of advanced acetic acid-based products. I’m posting this here in the hope that shipowners who are interested in and concerned about the development of downstream products derived from acetic acid can discuss how such products can be further developed. Everyone is welcome to share their opinions; there’s no absolute right or wrong. I just hope that through these discussions, new ideas and approaches can emerge, hehe

To be honest, I’m amazed by the way we Chinese handle things! ! Anything that the Chinese do basically leads to failure! ! Thus, there is no possibility of technical improvement! ! Take acetic acid for example! Everyone is building like crazy! Now many companies suffer whether they produce or not – producing also brings pain!
The only downstream product of acetic acid seems to be cellulose triacetate; the problem is that the technical challenges cannot be overcome, and foreign companies have too much dominance in this area
I agree with the original poster’s view. The expansion pace of the acetic acid industry has been too rapid, resulting in a severe oversupply in the market. However, Celanese has managed to achieve high profits across the entire acetic acid industry chain thanks to its well-developed downstream supply chain – which is certainly worth learning from* hehehhe.
