Want to pursue a PhD: (It would be better in the chemical engineering field.)

I am in Shanghai and would like to pursue a Ph.D. in chemical engineering at a university or research institute there. Which direction would be better? I have a master’s degree in electrochemistry, which is quite different from chemical engineering; will my supervisor be okay with that?
One still needs to think it through carefully before making a decision.
I wonder why the original poster wants to pursue a PhD. If one truly wants to pursue research work, it is recommended to choose some emerging fields. At school, I noticed that many teachers in the field of traditional chemical engineering have shifted from their original areas of expertise to fields such as biochemical engineering, membrane separation, and drug synthesis. It is highly recommended that the original poster think things through before taking action. Because I’ve seen too many frustrated doctors. I admire their courage.
I want to pursue a PhD because I want to work as a teacher at a university; my current job is too exhausting!
It’s not too easy to stay at school these days, but one can go to regular schools, such as colleges or schools offering adult education. And pursuing a Ph.D. isn’t easy either
