If it’s a 24V power supply, does the power cable and the feedback signal share the same wire? Is it necessary to do this? Personally, I think there will be issues with maintenance in the future; with shared signal and power cables, and given the possibility of short circuits in the cabinet wiring, things will likely get quite messy. I am working on a Phase 2 expansion project, and I would appreciate it if my colleagues could share the advantages and disadvantages of this connection method! (I think the advantage is that it saves some cables.)

I guess what LZ means is that the two feedback limit switch signal wires for the open and closed states of the on/off valve share a common negative wire; there’s nothing wrong with this principle. Using three wires can indeed save some cable.

What the poster means is that the negative terminal of 24VDC shares a wire with the feedback signal. I strongly object to it; even if it is feasible, it should be avoided. The poster’s concerns are absolutely valid. The convenience of today is the inconvenience of tomorrow.
