The full English expansion of EAG heater is: Escape air gas. Escape air gas refers to the safety venting system that safely discharges the gas that accumulates in the LNG pipelines due to overpressure into the EAG pipelines.
The EAG heater’s low-temperature system safety valve discharges only low-temperature gases. At temperatures below approximately -107°C, the density of natural gas is greater than that of air at normal temperatures; as a result, the emitted gases do not spread easily and tend to accumulate downward. Therefore, an air-temperature type exhaust gas heater is installed; the exhaust gas passes through this heater first, and after heat exchange with air, the density of the natural gas becomes lower than that of air.
