Why does the steam vent of a turbine’s steam seal sometimes emit large amounts of steam? I don’t know why?

It might be that the translational momentum of the rotor changes from time to time, causing the comb teeth to not be aligned. The radial clearance of the steam seal is too large.

If everything is normal under normal circumstances, it’s probably because too much air is being drawn out by the steam seal
Reasons: 1. Unstable extraction steam pressure; 2. High air leakage from the gas seal; 3. Unstable operation resulting in excessive rotor movement
Gas-condensing turbines have issues with shaft seal steam supply; In addition to unstable working steam pressure, the shaft seal extractor also has hydrophobicity issues: poor water drainage and damaged water seals ; The steam seal is not fitting properly, resulting in an increased amount of steam leakage.
The presence of steam coming from the gas seal indicates that no gas seal extractor has been installed, and the steam is released directly into the atmosphere. The reason could be the steam seal gap, or fluctuations in the parameters of the steam used for the steam seal.
