Matte resin is not a transparent resin; its surface features very small, uneven microstructures, which prevent light reflection – whereas light can pass through transparent resin. 2. The production methods are different. Transparent resin is produced by processing high-grade resin, while matting resin is manufactured by adding a matting agent during polymerization. 3. Different uses. Matting resins are mainly used in fields such as packaging, building materials, vehicles, furniture, and clothing. Transparent resin is mainly used in the packaging industry for transparent films, sheets, and similar products.
Matte PVC resins are produced using the suspension chemical crosslinking method and the overlap polymerization method, with the suspension chemical crosslinking method being the most commonly used at present. The matting PVC resin produced by chemical crosslinking contains a certain amount of resin in the form of insoluble, non-melting polymer microgels. Japan began researching matte PVC resins in the 1970s, and industrial production was established in the mid-1980s. To date, many companies have introduced various grades of matte PVC resins, which are widely used in fields such as packaging, building materials, vehicles, furniture, and clothing.
If I want to produce matting resins, can I do it using the existing equipment designed for regular resins? ? Does only the formula need to be changed, or are the production equipment also required to be modified?
Ordinary equipment can be used to produce matting resins. Moreover, the reaction principle of matting resins is compatible with that of high-polymer resins.
