First of all, I’m a beginner... On the layout diagram, which lines should be kept and which ones should be removed? I’m a bit confused. Also, what should I pay attention to when drawing the instrument layout diagram?
I usually delete all the elevations; sometimes I also remove the equipment tag numbers, the equipment centerlines… and so on
I noticed that in some colleagues’ layout drawings, the center lines haven’t been removed, but annotations such as distances to columns and equipment have been deleted; I didn’t pay attention to anything else. Has anyone seen the regulations regarding how to draw these diagrams? Sharing this, thank you so much!

It's sufficient to clearly indicate the relative positions of the instruments; unnecessary process pipelines and equipment can be removed. It’s the instrumentation specialists who decide on the instrument drawings, hehe.
I don’t know what major the original poster has. I major in instrument control. When drawing instrument layout diagrams, if there isn’t too much content on the sheet and the instruments can be clearly shown, we try not to remove any elements from other specialties. If it’s really impossible to fit everything in, then we can make appropriate adjustments by altering or removing elements from other specialties, as long as this doesn’t affect readability or the overall clarity of the diagram.

If you are not from a design institute, you don’t need to provide site plans; you can simply have the installation company review the PID diagram while you provide on-site guidance for the installation!
The instrument layout diagram is provided by the process engineering team, right?
