Is there ethanol in hydrochloric acid?

This post was last edited by sunjl1981 on 2013-1-6 at 23:35. We purchased synthetic colorless hydrochloric acid at 31%, yet ethanol was detected in it? What on earth is going on here? Is it possible for ethanol to be present in synthetic hydrochloric acid? Was it still a transport vehicle that carried ethanol? No way, is such a thing really possible? What methods were used to accurately determine the analysis process and detect ethanol? What were the results? The original poster is not wrong in thinking of having the transportation company conduct an inspection
