Which is better for the absorption tower of an oil and gas recovery unit: diesel or gasoline? Since only gasoline vapors are being treated, will using 90# gasoline for absorption have an impact on the quality of that 90# gasoline? Are there any disadvantages to using diesel absorption?
To handle gasoline vapors, only gasoline can be used for absorption; diesel cannot be used. Using 90# gasoline for absorption (a lower-grade fuel) has little impact on the quality of the oil. When carrying out recovery, the absorbed 90# gasoline is not sent back to the tank but is directly loaded onto vehicles and delivered to gas stations.

Most of the components in gasoline vapor are the light fractions of gasoline, while such light fractions are rarely present in diesel. If the content of light components in diesel increases, it will affect the quality of the diesel.
