How is loading and unloading done in a reciprocating air compressor? It turns out that I learned about old-style compressors, where loading and unloading are achieved by opening and closing air valves. There are two pairs of intake valves and exhaust valves in total. Fully off is 0 ； With one pair installed, the load is 50% ； Full open is 100%. But currently, the compressor still has only two intake valves and one exhaust valve, yet the load can be 25%, 75%, or even 90%. How is this achieved? Please provide some information. Thank you!
The adjustment of the load (air volume) on large compressors is achieved by controlling the air volume through valves located at the outlet of the cylinders and returning it to the main intake pipeline; additionally, the air delivery volume can be adjusted by regulating the limit values of the cylinders (there is a valve for adjusting these limit values at one end of each cylinder).
