Under what circumstances do chemical plant chimneys need to be equipped with rain caps, and under what circumstances do they not? Are there any corresponding design regulations?
There is no **standard** for this; generally, as long as ventilation is possible on all four sides depending on the actual situation, that’s sufficient.
