What is the sulfur content in the exhaust gases emitted from a converter chimney? Whether it meets environmental standards; are there any companies that have implemented desulfurization for converter chimneys?

The natural gas used for combustion in the first-stage converter must be desulfurized, at least to an initial level; generally, the sulfur content in natural gas is below 5PPm. In older plants, gas from wet desulfurization processes is used for combustion in the first-stage furnace. In newly built facilities, a dedicated iron-manganese desulfurization unit is installed to reduce the sulfur content in natural gas to 0.1PPm; Therefore, there is no need to desulfurize the flue gas at all ; Flue gas desulfurization has two major drawbacks: 1. The volume of flue gas is large and the pressure is low, requiring the construction of a large-scale installation ; 2. Flue gas desulfurization provides no protection for the equipment ; The fuel gas is desulfurized before combustion, and the desulfurization process is simple and easy ; The sulfur content in the flue gas is low, resulting in small amounts of SO2 and SO3 being produced during combustion; thus, there is no risk of acid corrosion to the equipment in the dead corners of the convection section. If the fuel gas is not desulfurized while only the flue gas is desulfurized, then the heat exchanger is prone to corrosion ;
