The advantage of spherical tanks over cylindrical tanks is uniform stress distribution, as well as the ability to withstand higher pressures. So, are there spherical tanks that operate at atmospheric pressure? If so, what medium is it usually stored on? Can propylene be stored under normal pressure in spherical tanks? ?
There should be ones available; for storing volatile liquid hydrocarbons such as gasoline and propane, column tanks are sufficient, as spherical tanks are expensive.
