Crude oil at the wellhead → Metering station (metering separator, heater) → Transfer station (export pump for pressure increase, heater, oil-gas separator) → Combined processing station (dehydration, degassing, crude oil stabilization; includes electrical dehydration and sedimentation dehydration) → First export station (export pump, crude oil storage tanks) → Long-distance pipeline → Intermediate heat pump station (export pump, heater) → Final station (crude oil storage tanks) → End users. The metering station and the transfer station can be built together, or these functions can be carried out within a combined station, depending mainly on the distance between the wellhead and the combined station. Gases are basically similar.

Intermediate stations are further categorized into: pumping stations, distribution stations, and distribution pumping stations. Different stations have different processes and different equipment. It is recommended to read books on storage and transportation; it’s hard to explain in just one or two sentences.
