The unit has a large number of jacketed pipes, and corrosion and leakage in the inner tubes of these jacketed pipes have occurred on multiple occasions. The foreigner’s suggestion is to undergo profile radiography. Software processing allows one to observe the corrosion of the inner tube; this is a very common method abroad, and it is possible to clearly see the thinning of the pipe from the photographs. But I asked several suppliers, and none of them have the technology in this area. Does anyone have experience in this area? Could someone provide a supplier? Thank you. Also, I would like to ask how everyone manages jacketed pipes, and how to determine whether the pipes have thinned. Is there corrosion? Do we have to replace everything just because one leak is found?
It seems that foreigners do have excellent technical skills. We didn’t pay much attention to it; if it got damaged and could no longer be used, we would replace it. If there was a leak, we would weld it back together and use it again. Most of them are simply sold once they rot.
3 years ago, I went to a factory in Singapore and saw them take photos of the jacketed pipes, then process them using software; the resulting images were similar to CT scans, one image at a time. If there is thinning, it is obvious to see. There are many reasons for pipe thinning, many of which are not known in advance.
It seems that none of the factories here have jacketed pipes
Heat transfer oil is leaking from the jacket of my* company’s equipment; it’s getting into the system (which operates under vacuum conditions). I have to keep replenishing the oil regularly, and I’m waiting for the plant to be shut down for helium leak testing. It would be great if there were some kind of contour imaging technique available!
If gas detection is used, only the leakage point can be identified; there is nothing that can be done in cases of rapid thinning and leakage. The total replacement cost is too high.
